Karen Rich (Lancashire) - Karen teaches Greek at all levels in the Blackpool and Fylde area, and runs a weekly advanced class at Lancashire College in Chorley, where she is also co-ordinator of the very popular residential Greek weekends.

Karen also teaches privately in the Blackpool area, and carries out telephone tuition with learners based further away. She was born in Blackpool, studied languages at Exeter University, and spent 5½ years living and teaching English in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece. Karen is also co-author of the BBC's "Talk Greek" book (designed to take learners through the first year of learning Modern Greek - with or without a tutor), wrote the script for the BBC "Talk Greek" online basic Greek course, and is author of the BBC's "Quickstart Greek" audio-only course. Karen has been shortlisted for one of the prestigious NIACE Adult Tutors awards, and recently won the Institute of Linguists' David Crystal Award for "Fostering the Study of Languages".

Jane Layne (Derbyshire/Notts) - I am a fully qualified teacher and have been teaching Modern Greek since 1983, from absolute beginner to GCSE level, mainly in adult/community education. I have also taught undergraduates at the University of Nottingham, where I also designed the course and both set and marked examinations. Since 1990 I have been an examiner for GCSE Modern Greek (including the oral exam).

I also teach privately to individuals and small groups, including remote learners by correspondence. I live approximately 14 miles from Nottingham on the Notts/Derbys border, near junction 27 of the M1.
